Images

This image was taken using a light reflector to make the light hit her face to highlight her features.

These images were taken while trying to get a shot for a front cover of a magazine we were playing with the use of props in our images to get different effects and styles of photos.

To add a drop shaddow onto my text i double clicked ont he layer which my text is on and then clicked on the box that says drop shaddow then i used the scale to choose the denesty of my drop shadow and the clock face to choose the angle i want the shadow to go on.
After adding the drop shaddow effect i wanted to add a outer glow to my text, to do this i clicked on the box that said outer glow and then used the scales to choose the desenty of the glow and how bright it is.

manual focus

This is the first image I took when learnign how to use manual focus.
This image was my second attempt

This image was taken using manual focour, manual focus allows you to focous on a specific part of an image and blur the image around it to make that specific part of the image stand out.

Final Product

My final producrt is of a magazine front cover and double page spread, the magazine is aimed at both males and females aged 16-19 from the socio economic group c1-d.

My double page spread includes an article about the top ten tips on cobating global warming. My magazine reflects my target audience as the modle is of the same age and socio economic group.
If i was to redo my product I would make my sell lines more catchy on the front cover to draw readers in.

Poses

This image shows my model from the side, it demonstrates side lighting where the light falls on one side of the face making them seem soft and angelic.

This image shows my model psoing in a sexty manor the lighting is direct on her face to draw your attention to her expression.

This image is a portrate of my model the camera is facing her face on and the light is directly on her face to hight light all ofher features.

This image is of my model being happy, the lighting is direct on her fqace so we can clearly see her smile.

Shutter Speeds

Shutter speeds alter the amount of light you let into your image, the faster your shutter speed the less light that gets to your image, the slower your shutter speed the more light that gets to your image.

In thuis image I used a fast shutter speed so that i didnt let alot of light in as the conditions outside were quite light already.

Here on this image I used a slower shutter speed to allow mroe light to fall on to her face.
On this image I used a slow shutter speed to allow alot of light into the image to give the a summer affect, I wanted the light to high light her face which using a slow shutter speed would enable me to do.

Production Monitoring Blog

Progress:
  • Discussion of what you achieved last week (discuss day to day how you progressed)
Last week I completed my photo shoot, I got a image that I needed for my front cover aswell as the images I need for my magazineg article. I am half way through completeing my article and I have fully designed my double page spread.
  • What problems did you encounter? What contingencies did you have in place?
The problem I had was one of my models were ill therefore i only had one model when I intended to jhave two, i had to change some of my shots for my article.
  • Discuss the specific technical and equipment skills you have used and learnt
I have learnt how to properly use Indesign including how to add your own fonts and how to add effects to text and images... I have also learnt how to fill a blank bow with colour.

Targets:
  • What scheduled work do you have to complete this week? (Break it down day by day)
This week I aim to finish my front cover and insert my images into my double page spread and i intend to finish off my article.
  • How will you go about achieving this / What in particular do you have to prepare and do?
To complete this I will have to work alot at home and in my free's.
  • What specific technical skills will you have to use and learn?
I will have to improve my photoshop skills in order to create my front cover aswell as improve my wiritng skills to complete my article.
Contingencies:
  • Think about what exactly you have to do and discuss the possible problems you might encounter
I may encouter a problem when inserting my text into my double page spread my article may eb to big or small if it is either of these i will have to make changes to my layout.
  • What will you do if these go wrong / How will you get around them or avoid them happening?
I will have to change my lay out to have bigger or smaller images.

Production Monitoring Blog

Progress
Last week I planned out my articles and started writing up my final article, I also finished designing my mock up of my two front covers. I struggles to find a name for my magazine but I managed to over come this.

Targets
This week I should have my article finished by thursday, my double page spread should be at least half finished by wednesday. To do this I will have to attend after college sessions. I will have to learn how to use in design to a higher degree.

Contingencies
I may have a problem using in design there may be something I don't know how to do, if this does happen I will watch a editorial about how to do it.

magazine double spread

First off I created a foldered maned magazinge, within that folder i created three other folders names, image, text and fonts.
I then created a new document on Adobe Indesign, I measured a magazine double spread and put the exact same meausements of height, width, margine guides and inside and out side gutters into the dimentions for my double page spread so that I knew it would be the correct size.
I then saved the article that I wanted to insert into my double page spread into my folder that I named 'text'. I drew boxes to represent where I wanted to place the text on my spread and then right clicked the boxes and clicked on content and then text. I then clicked on file, place and clicked the document which had my article in. I then dragged the article into the boxes where I wanted my text, the text wont all fit in a single box, so it has a red box in the corner of the box, you click and drag that box into another box and it will continoue the articale until all of your text has gone.
To add an image, you must frist save the image you wish to use into the folder names 'image' and then click on file, place and drag your image into where you want it.
You can also add effects to your text by clicking on the box where your text is located then clicking on object and then on effects and choose your desired effects, this can also be done for images.
